Media checklist

Before you launch a streaming network

Turn your catalog, community and commercial vision into a network your team can operate. Use these questions to shape a Shoppable Networks deployment or another scoped media launch.

01

Define the network

Who is this for? What will people watch first, and why will they return? Bring together the audience, brand, content library and business model. Independent broadcasters, publishers, culture networks and specialist content owners can begin with different programming needs.

02

Prepare the catalog and rights

Inventory source media, titles, descriptions, ratings, credits, genres, captions and artwork. Confirm where each asset may be distributed and for how long. Identify who owns metadata quality, rights records and content readiness.

03

Design the programming rhythm

Decide how linear, on-demand and live experiences fit together. Shoppable Networks supports channel management, ordered queues and one-time, daily or weekly programming blocks using playlists or live sources. Define the publishing calendar and the people who maintain it.

04

Choose screens and deployment priorities

Shoppable Networks includes feed adapters for Roku, Fire TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Apple TV and Google TV, plus branded web and mobile-web experiences. Scope native app packaging, device checks, regional availability, platform accounts, approvals and publication for the actual deployment. Feed support does not include automatic FAST, cable or broadcast carriage.

05

Connect the viewing and commerce journey

Map what a viewer should do next: explore merchandise, buy a ticket, join a membership or support a creator. Supported web overlays can present product details and purchase links. Supported video QR workflows can take a TV viewer to a phone-based destination for checkout. Validate each media source, device and destination.

06

Configure payments and creator relationships

Define merchant ownership, creator agreements, platform fees, access rules and customer support. Review the Stripe and connected-account workflows and any Printify merchandise integration selected for the deployment. Subamerica’s creator economics are an example, not automatic license terms.

07

Give the audience a place to return

Plan creator portals, biographies, videos, audio, merchandise and events. Decide how follows, likes, memberships, member workspaces and community communications contribute to the experience. Assign producer and administrator responsibilities.

08

Promote and measure with context

Choose recordings for short-form clips, review proposed AI-assisted captions and confirm access for supported social publishing. Record available streaming, QR-scan and overlay engagement alongside the content and period measured. Engagement observations alone do not establish completed purchases or revenue attribution.

09

Rehearse, launch and operate

Test playback, schedules, supported devices, QR destinations, checkout, member access and agreed exceptions. Prepare platform submissions, train the team and establish acceptance criteria, support ownership and recovery steps. Launch timing depends on the catalog, integrations and platform reviews.

010

Agree the commercial scope

The Shoppable Networks annual technology license starts at $50,000 USD, plus $75,000 USD in one-time implementation fees, for $125,000 USD in starting first-year fees. Branding, integrations, rollout, support, usage and third-party costs are scoped per deployment. Confirm permitted software use, included deliverables and ongoing responsibilities in the agreement.

People Also Asked

Good questions.
Useful answers.

What should a network owner decide before choosing features?

Define the audience, programming, content rights and business model first. Those decisions establish the priority screens, catalog requirements, commerce journeys and team responsibilities.

What does six TV feed integrations mean for launch planning?

Shoppable Networks includes feed adapters for Roku, Fire TV, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Apple TV and Google TV. Each deployment still needs its own native app packaging, current compatibility checks, platform accounts, required reviews and publication plan.

What should a TV-to-phone commerce test cover?

Check that the QR code appears in the supported video workflow, resolves to the intended destination and lets a viewer complete the agreed purchase, ticket, membership or support journey. Validate the actual devices and media sources rather than assuming identical behavior everywhere.

How should we measure whether the network is working?

Agree the programming, audience and commercial measures, definitions and review period. Available streaming activity, QR scans and overlay interactions can help explain engagement; completed purchases and revenue attribution require appropriate additional measurement.

Who runs the network after implementation?

Define publishing, creator support, payments, platform administration and incident responsibilities before launch. Muse can provide training, handover and a separately scoped managed service where needed.
